AS Reusner attaches great importance to the clean living environment and a healthier future for us all.
To implement these convictions, in 2009 the Reusner Printing House joined the Nordic Swan Label, an environmental marking system for products. We received the corresponding licence No. 441-739 that entitles us to place such environmental markings on the products that comply with the applicable requirements.
The Nordic Swan Label was created in 1989 by the Nordic Council of Ministers to offer a marking system for environmentally-friendly products. This is primarily a consumer-oriented practical measure as it makes the so-called green products more prominent.
The Nordic Swan Label has become one of the leading environmental marking systems in the world.
The standard of environmental marking takes into account the influence of the product on the environment during its whole usage cycle, thus guaranteeing that the product is a good choice from the viewpoint of environmental protection.
It was the Nordic Swan Label that was deemed the leading solution in the global survey of environmental marking systems commissioned by the government of the United Kingdom. The Nordic Swan Label won in three of the nine categories as the best sustainable environmental marking solution.
There are currently 1,000 Nordic Swan Label licences in the Nordic Countries, with over 3,000 products in more than 60 categories carrying this marking and these products include car tyres, single-use and rechargeable batteries, copy paper, computers, stationery, glues, photocopying equipment, furniture, etc.
In 1996 a Nordic Swan Label licence was for the first time issued to a printing house in Sweden and now there are over 200 licences printing houses.
In Estonia there is only one other printing house besides AS Reusner that has a Nordic Swan Label licence.
There are Nordic Swan Label offices in Scandinavia (Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Iceland) and the staff issue the licences, make inspection visits to the companies and inform consumers about environmentally-friendly products.
The Nordic Swan Label products and their entire production process must comply with the strict environmental and quality requirements that include:
- use of environmentally-friendly paper
- printing inks with vegetable-oil or water base
- recyclable printing material
- minimal quantities of scrap and residue
- implementation of energy-saving measures and use of renewable energy
- attention to chemicals used in production, restriction of toxic vapour inhalation
